Sophie

As seen on Union Terrace. Cute smile and cool outfit.

And in conclusion...it's okay to have fun with your layers, even in Aberdeen :)

Enjoy...

Pure Man

And I do not call him that because I know him that personally...I met him working in the PURE Store on Holborn Street...a walking advertisement for the store's range of high end men's clothing.

Enjoy :)

Now Where Have I Been?

Source my-purple-dreams.blogspot.com

I'm one of those people who gets irate at "lazy" bloggers...bloggers who update sporadically, making me wait for days or weeks at a time for a new post.

And now here I am, under the same umbrella. BUT I do have genuine reasons for being incommunicado:

1. I resigned from my old job without the prospect of a new one. Ambitious move I know but worry not for the state of my pocket, I eventually got another, a much better one at that. But the search took a wee while, and monopolised my thoughts for a fair bit of time.

2. I was the Maid of Honour at a wedding recently. Had to travel across continents for this one, not to talk of the planning and shopping involved...hmmm...in hindsight maybe I should have blogged about that experience...

3. After all new jobs and weddings were sorted, I caught an aggressive flu. The type that makes the normally simple task of opening your eyes seem herculean...

Anyway, anyway, anyway I'm back.

How has everyone been? :)

Street Style - Ao Shen

Pronounced "Ocean", I bumped into Ao Shen last weekend. Such a happy guy; keen on his photography...obviously.

His style and his polaroid, I had to feature.

It's so cool that the Polaroid has somehow survived through the increasingly digital age. Love it!

Enjoy :)

Street Style - Kate

Apart from traipsing round Aberdeen looking casual chic, Kate also organizes the charming March Hare & Craft Vintage Market which I featured in a post HERE.

She was at the Candy Belle Vintiques fair and so nicely nipped outside and braved the cold so I could get some photos of her.

So anyway, upon blog updating, I realized I really, REALLY want that dip hem top. First of all, it looks undoubtedly comfy, it's chic without being in-your-face trendy, I can wear it as a dress or a top as Kate did and it just generally looks stressless (cue observation of National Stress Awareness Day of which you can find out more HERE).

I'm nice, so I'll share the one I found on ASOS here. Comes in black as well, on sale, grab it while you can.

The neck piece Kate has on was being sold at the Candy Belle event; here's a closer look. Interesting names, no? They're made and sold by Aberdeen based BOTTLED TREASURES; see their website here.

Enjoy :)

Street Style - Joseph

Joseph was also at the Candy Belle Vintiques fair; and with this engagingly cool outfit, asking him to be featured on the blog was a no brainer.

He clearly doesn't take himself too seriously as he waltzed into the fair, bought a few outfits and went straight to put them on...no fuss, no moss...just a one-stop style chronicle.

I personally love the fact that the grey weather makes for no grey Joseph. Bring on the colors!

Enjoy.

What's not to love about these pieces of finger candy?

Street Style - Sarah Kennedy

I mentioned on the facebook page that I would be attending the "CANDY BELLE VINTIQUES" fair at The Thistle Caledonian. So I went along yesterday and it was a few hours of good vintage fun; rummages and finds and a bit too much money spent on my part.

Anyway, the best part was the organizers tasked everyone to dress up in vintage with the promise of a prize to the best dressed (to be determined by their facebook fans).

And Sarah Kennedy most definitely got the memo! I totally asked her if she's a relative of Jackie. I mean...seriously...look at the classic outfit and tell me your mind wouldn't have swung there.

Alas, she's of no such lineage. She's just a stylish singer-songwriter lassie from Edinburgh.

Enjoy :)

Street Style - Aloz

Whatever the weather, keep calm and style up!

Here's Aloz, spotted on Belmont street, fresh and dapper and headed to Nando's. 'Cause we all know if Nando's doesn't warm you, nothing else will ;)

Enjoy:)

Street Style - Jenny

Hello, Hello and HELLO!

Apologies for the lack of posts lately. It's been dreary, wet and windy in the 'Deen and inevitably, the 'Donians cannot be bothered to show up in style. I mean, it rained so bad the last few days, rumor has it even the ducks were complaining.

Which is why I yelped for joy when I spotted cute quirky Jenny in her modernized 80's inspired cool ensemble.

She kind of reminds me of Sarah's post HERE, no?

Enjoy :)

So I asked about the bag...seeing as it's a hybrid between my regular satchel and a sort of funky owl and of course might be nice to have. BUT, she got it off ebay...sigh...

Style Find - DUNE... Match-making

Hey everyone  :)

Wanted to share with you my style find from DUNE at Union Square (bag can be found online here and the shoes here). I didn't actually get these for myself but for a very dear friend whose birthday it was.

HOWEVER, I can sense a return journey to DUNE is imminent...You must understand. It. Cannot. Be. Helped.

They're not in the sale, which is probably why I didn't immediately buy mine, but they're so good to look at, my impulse control center is failing miserably as stopping me from waiting till the sale.

Street Style - Sophie

Sophie is very on trend with her tartan skirt.

The combined patterns and textures in her outfit are cool enough to make me smile at the thought of dressing up for fall weather.

Enjoy :)

Here I am again to the rescue of those of you who want to get on that tartan van. I found this pencil skirt at TOPSHOP and you can buy it online here...or heck just walk into the store and try before you buy.

The shoes are from MANGO via ASOS here.

Style Store - Cloudy Blue

I had some time to play with some time ago and so I took a wee walk down Rosemount Place.

I was in gifts and craft heaven when I saw the display on the window of the CLOUDY BLUE store. Unfortunately they were closed for the day but I managed to get this photo to share with you all.

Tell me you don't know this feeling ;)

Enjoy

Street Style - Tony

A well dressed man or a tub of decadent Ben & Jerry's Cookie dough ice-cream?

I would choose a well dressed man any day!

So here's Tony...as seen on Union Street...

Enjoy.

Street Style - Skye

I'm a big fan of the chunky gold necklace and Skye did it justice with this cute outfit. As seen on Union Street.

If you're also in love with the chunky necklace, I've done the groundwork for you and found a gorge silver version for £20 at TOPSHOP here or a more playful black one for £8 (on sale) at HOUSE OF FRASER here

Street Style - Paula

The weather keeps playing all these games...you just don't know how to play along when it comes to getting dressed.

Anyway, in the infrequent windows of warm(ish) weather we have, I've caught a few Aberdonians holding on to summer(ish) style.

Like the lovely Paula...

I love that Aztec satchel. I'm an unrepentant satchel lover.

Enjoy :)
